Fault Tolerance for Server Virtualization

Fault Tolerance for Single Server Apps

Geographical Fault Tolerance for Disaster Recovery

Marathon - High Availability Experts Since 1993

Founded in 1993, Marathon Technologies is the only provider of fault-tolerant, automated, high availability and disaster recovery software for physical and virtual servers. Marathon’s everRun software prevents outages and data loss – without IT intervention - in Microsoft Windows Server and Citrix XenServer infrastructures.

Background

Marathon Technologies was founded by senior executives and engineers responsible for developing Digital’s VAX FT fault-tolerant systems. The team used this experience to create the first software and networking technology that allowed multiple Windows/Intel servers to operate as a single fault-tolerant system.

The company migrated its technology in 2004 to a software-only product (everRun®) that works with standard off-the-shelf x86 Intel and AMD servers with Windows Server 2003 and unmodified Windows applications. In 2007, the company announced its v-Available product initiative, designed to fill a big gap in the market for effective high availability software for virtual servers. In the spring of 2008 the company released everRun VM for Citrix XenServerTM the first in the series of v-Available products from Marathon that are so simple, transparent and effective that every application can have high availability and disaster recovery protection.

Thousands of customers around the globe use Marathon’s everRun software to prevent outages and data loss – without IT intervention. Organizations using everRun achieve high availability, 100% data protection, and rapid recovery – all through “one-click” operation.

The company won “Best of VMworld 2007 – New Technology” for bringing fault-tolerant availability to virtual servers. Network World named Marathon one of “10 Virtualization Companies to Watch.” And CIO.com named Marathon one of “10 Virtualization Vendors to Watch in 2008.”
